Samar Mogharbel is a Lebanese sculptor and ceramist, born in Beirut in 1958. She originally studied Business and Computers at Beirut University College, now known as the Lebanese American University (LAU). There, she encountered pioneering ceramist Dorothy Salhab Kazemi. Under Kazemi's mentorship, Mogharbel developed a foundation in ceramics. She then pursued a postgraduate diploma in ceramics at Goldsmiths College, London. Since 1983, she has been teaching ceramics at LAU in Beirut.

Mogharbel's work is influenced by Lebanon's sociopolitical landscape. In 1995, her participation in archaeological excavations in downtown Beirut deeply impacted her work, leading her to explore themes of memory and cultural heritage. In 2005, she created six ceramic sculptures resembling booby-trapped cars in response to political assassinations in Lebanon; these works earned her the first prize at the Sursock Museum and were later cast in bronze and exhibited in London in 2011.

Her body of work includes ceramics, sculpture, and video art, often characterized by natural textures and forms that evoke resilience and transformation. Mogharbel's work has been showcased in solo exhibitions in Beirut, including at Agial Art Gallery and Galerie Janine Rubeiz, as well as internationally at venues like the Millesgarden Museum in Stockholm. She has also participated in group exhibitions and symposiums across the MENA region and beyond.

Mogharbel continues to live and work in Beirut, engaging in teaching, exhibitions, and community art initiatives.
